Malate Church (Nuestra Senora de Remedios)

This Church can be found in Manila, Philippines. Broque in style which faces the Manila Bay. Malate Church is also known as Nuestra Senora de Remedios, patron of childbirth.

A revered statue of the Virgin Mary in her role as Our Lady of Remedies was brought from Spain in 1624 and stands at the altar.

The church was built originally in the sixteenth century by the Augustinians and is one of the oldest churches in Manila outside of Intramuros.

Bamboo Organ of Las Pinas City (St. Joseph Parish Church)

Located in Las Pinas City, south of Manila. The Church is made out of adobe (volcanic) stones and was constructed between 1797 and 1819.

It was built in so called “earthquake” baroque architectural style.

The Church is famous for its Bamboo Organ, a unique and historic musical instrument and only in the world. Unique because the pipes are all made out of Bamboos.

The Old Churches of Metro Manila Series

There are lots of old churches here in Metro Manila and mostly are built during the Spanish era.

Most of them are in Baroque style mostly made out of heavy lumbers, Bricks and Adobe stones. Old statues and relics are very well kept but some were destroyed during the war and now renovated.
