San Jose Parish Church, Baras, Rizal (1)

The Franciscans built the first church in 1595. The town was transferred to Ibayo in 1636 but returned to the present site in 1682. The Jesuits administered this parish from 1616 to 1679. San Jose Parish Church of Baras, Rizal was completed in 1686.

The present altar, sanctuary, sacristy, church interiors, facade, grotto, roof, and the columbary of San Jose Parish Church were well preserved, restored and built thru the initiative of Rev. Fr. Aguedo Gula and Rev. Fr. Giovanni Osias O. Yago assisted by Engr. Martin T. Rio with the support of the christian community and the advice of the National Historical Treasure.

I was just invited for a wedding and never knew about Nuestra Señora de Gracia of Guadalupe in Makati City.

It’s hard to imagine that a church almost 400 years old lies hidden in this business capital of the Philippines.

Binondo Church, also known as Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo Ruiz, located in China Town of Manila.

One of the Old church in Manila, Founded by the Dominican priests in 1596, Binondo Church is one of the oldest places of Christian worship in the Philippines.

Sta. Ana Church – The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Abandoned

Sta. Ana Church is situated in Sta. Ana, Manila and its also known as the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Abandoned.

One of the oldest churches of Manila, the church was built under the supervision of Fr. Vicente Ingles, OFM.

The cornerstone of the present church was laid on September 12, 1720 by Francisco dela Cuesta, then Archbishop of Manila and Acting Governor General of the Philippines.
